Activities of the Week

Sis Gin would be at the Centre on Friday, 8th March 2013 for a Q & A session for anyone who needs clarification about their meditation  practice.

Our first Sutta Class is about "Introduction to Pali Canon"  and will be held on the next day, 9th March 2013 from 3 to 5pm.

Sambodhi's third Annual General Meeting would be held on 10 March 2013 at 9:30am.

Vijaya Samawickrama

Mr Vijaya Samarawickrama (a.k.a. Uncle Vijaya) is an engaging and inspiring Dhamma speaker. He graduated as a specialist in the Teaching of English as a Second Language from the Malayan Teachers' Training College in Liverpool, England and later on a B.A.(Hons) in English and Linguistics from the University of Malaya and an M.A. (Drama and Theater) from the University of Hawaii.

Uncle Vijaya is a committee member of the Sasana Abhiwurdhi Wardhana Society and is also its former vice-president.
Uncle is also author to many Dhamma books, essays and discussions. He shares the gift of Dhamma by delivering talks and organising workshops and seminars in schools, colleges, universities and Buddhist organisations.

CNY Blessing Service 2013

We are very fortunate to have with us our Spiritual Advisor, Ven B Sri Saranankara Nayaka Maha Thero (Chief Reverend) on Sunday, 24 February, 2013. Chief Reverend will perform the blessing service for all present. Venerable will also give a short Dhamma talk on how to count our blessings, so do spread the word around and encourage your family, relatives and friends to participate in this blessing service.

Those who wish to do Dana are advised to bring cooked food or already cut fruits to the Centre no later than 11.00 am on Sunday, 24 February, 2013.

Pali Sutta Class I

Pālī Sutta Class I is an Introductory Course of 10 discourses of the Buddha as found in the Pālī Canon. Participants learn about Buddhism directly from the primary sources, and how these age-old teachings can be applied in their everyday lives at work, at home, and with their families and friends. No prior knowledge of Buddhism is required to attend this course.

TIME: 3.00 pm – 5.30 pm (2.5 hours per session)
