Pindapata and Dana at New Centre


We are pleased to inform that we have arranged for 2 reverence monks for
Pindapata this Sunday, Jan 8, 2012. They shall start their alms round starting
from Restaurant Loong Seng at 8:30am and moving towards Kopitian Setia Alam.
Pindapata shall end at 9:00am.

For your information, our newly set-up centre is located 2 floors above
Restaurant Loong Seng. Dana shall be held at the centre from 9:00 to 9:30am.

You are all welcomed to join us for both Pindapata and Dana. Kindly serve
vegetarian food.

Loong Seng)

Biodata of Bro Aruna K. Gamage

Bro Aruna is a Researcher in Dhammachai Tipitaka Project, Thailand and PhD Candidate in Graduate School of Buddhist Studies, International Buddhist College, Thailand. He has lectured at the Department of Pāli & Buddhist Studies in the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, Buddhist & Pāli University of Sri Lanka, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka and Graduate School of Buddhist Studies, The Buddhist Library in Singapore and currently he is a teaching assistant in Graduate School of Buddhist Studies, International Buddhist College, Thailand.

Ajahn Cagino's Visit on Sept 18, 2011

We are pleased to announce the itinerary of Ajahn Cagino's visit to Setia Alam on Sept 18, 2011.

Pindapat
Pindapat is a Buddhist tradition where a monk walks with an alms bowl to receive food offerings.
Do note that money is NOT accepted.
Venue : Ocean BBQ Steamboat Restaurant (formerly Ijok Restaurant) along B U13/B Setia Alam and surrounding area.
Time : 8:15am

Dana
Venue: Concourse, Green Canopy, 5B Jalan Setia Nusantara U13/17, Setia Eco Park.
Time : 9:00am

Dhamma Talk
Venue : Concourse, Green Canopy, 5B Jalan Setia Nusantara U13/17, Setia Eco Park.
Time : 10:00am to 12:00 noon
Topic : A Spiritual Journey

For those who are keen in Pindapat and Dana, kindly serve vegetarian food.
Food should preferably be served in ceramic or glass plates/bowls during Dana.
Disposable containers are discouraged.

A photography exhibition offers a rare glimpse of the lives of forest monks.
VENERABLE Ajahn Cagino, 43, lives in a cave with two snakes and eight bats. The cave is 2km from the nearest village in Mae Hong Son in northern Thailand. Nestled in a deep valley hemmed in by high mountain ranges that border Myanmar, Mae Hong Son is isolated from the outside world and is covered with mist throughout the year. Read more...
