Workshop on Kamma and Group Meditation

The non-doing of any evil, the performance of what's skillful, the cleansing of one's own mind:

This is the Buddhas' teaching. — Dhp 183 Sis Gin shall be conducting a workshop on the Types of Kamma this Sunday, 30th Sept, 2012 at Sambodhi Centre. Do join us at 9:30am to have a deeper understanding on this important topic.

We are also pleased to invite you two (2) group meditation sessions with Sis Gin this week at Sambodhi Centre.

Workshops - Types of Kamma


The doctrine of kamma is one of the Buddha's central teachings. A study of his teachings on kamma will show that they underlie everything else he taught.

We are glad to announce that the opportunity for a better in-depth understanding on this very important topic is here. Sis Gin is conducting 2 workshops on the 'Types of Kamma'. Do join us in these workshops for the next 2 consecutive Sundays.

Speaker's Profile
Sis Gavesini (Gin) became interested in Buddhism in the early 70's. She has practiced Insight Meditation under various renowned meditation Masters and regularly goes for intensive retreats. She also runs meditation classes for aspiring yogis in various Buddhist Centres including Setia Alam Sambodhi Buddhist Association.

Ananda Fong Choong Fatt
Bro. Ananda graduated with a B.Sc in Applied Chemistry from Portsmouth University, United Kingdom. Ananda was the former deputy principal of the Buddhist Institute Sunday Dhamma School at the Brickfields Maha Vihara and former Deputy President of Bandar Utama Buddhist Society (BUBS). He gives Dhamma talks regularly at Buddhist societies.

Registration for Sunday School Students and Teachers


Setia Alam Sambodhi Buddhist Association Selangor has embarked on the setting up of Sambodhi Dhamma School. We sincerely hope that we can help each other in providing good Buddhist Education to the community.

pannaya attham janati                 By wisdom is the goal known;

nato attho sukhavaho.                 knowing the goal brings happiness.

Speaker's Profile

Bro Benny is the editor of Eastern Horizon, tri-annual journal of the Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia. He is also the Editorial Consultant and contributor to the “Religions and Beliefs” volume of The Encyclopedia of Malaysia (2006). His writings have appeared in numerous journals, including Journal of the Malaysian Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society and in “Nurturing Child and Adolescent Spirituality: Perspectives from the World's Religious Traditions” (Rowman & Littlefield: Minneapolis, USA, 2006). He edited three volumes in honor of Venerable Dr K. Sri Dhammananda: “K. Sri Dhammananda: A Pictorial Retrospect (2000)”, “K. Sri Dhammananda Felicitation (2003)”, and “108 Treasures for the Heart: A Guide to Daily Living (2005).” His most recent editorial contribution is “Transforming the Mind: To Create Happiness in our Lives” (2008).

Benny holds a B.A. (honors) Education degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a M.P.A. degree from University of Malaya. He is currently the Executive Director of a multi-national corporation.
